Alex Levin, New York Jazz Pianist

The Little Engine that Could

This is an exciting time for my trio!  After successfully releasing our third CD, New York Portraits, we are now focusing on playing more gigs.  We have found a great venue for our art at Tomi Jazz in Midtown, and this September we are really excited to be making our debut at Smalls Jazz Club.  Smalls is a really beautiful place to hear music, and I really hope that you can come celebrate swing with us this September.  Please visit the Gigs Page for more details.

In other news, I have started working on a new project with a singer.  We're still completing our set list, so it's really too early to announce anything right now, but please check back every now and then for more information.

Thanks to all of the new friends and fans who have joined my mailing list and signed the guestbook recently.  I really appreciate your support!

Love,

alex

New York Portraits released in Japan! The crowd goes wild!

I am so thrilled to see the response to the Japanese release of my newest CD, "New York Portraits."  In its first three weeks of release, it was in the top ten at Tokyo Cd stores and was number one in its second week!  Holy smokes!

The blogs have been enthusiastic, too.  They have called the CD, "Classic," "Outstanding," and "Bliss!"  If you'd like, feel free to email me to request an advance copy.  The official US release date is early October, 2010.

I would also like to thank Hans Koert for his wonderful write-up of my CD and career on his Dutch blog.  Check out the link:

Finally, I have recently updated my photo gallery with new pictures from Matt Poindexter.  Have a look-see!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Love,

Alex
